Tiffany's Iridescence: Glass in Rainbow Hues

Tiffany's Iridescence: Glass in Rainbow Hues explores the science and artistry behind Louis C. Tiffany's groundbreaking achievements in iridescent glass. Building on nineteenth-century developments in artificial iridescence, Tiffany was the first glassmaker to combine the effects of "luster" and "iridescence." This newfound innovation resulted in a spellbinding display of shimmering rainbow hues more vivid, more intense, and more brilliant than had ever been seen before. On display is an expansive selection of Tiffany glass. The exhibit opened on October 7, 2018, in the gallery at the Queens Museum, New York.
