Tel-El-Armana Glass Vase

Tel-El-Armana Favrile Glass Vase

Description

Vases with this intersecting band of zig-zags have come to be referred to as "Tel-El-Armana", however the discriptive of "Byzantine" had been used for this style in Tiffany Studios documents. This vase exemplifies the type of Egyptian glass that Louis C. Tiffany was fond of, and Tiffany Furnaces created a line of glass that incorporated Byzantine motifs in both vases and lamp shades. This Samarian red vase is iridescent, with applied bands at the base and neck, and an iridescent lip at the top.  Inscribed: L.C.Tiffany Favrile.  Height: 10".
